As you have lifted Jesus to the heavenly places, O God, make us aware that this is part of our divine inheritance. Let us rejoice and be glad, for today is the day of gracious reckoning. Amen.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who participated in collecting school kits for the children in Afghanistan. The lives of 40,000 Afghan children will be touched by the efforts of the United Methodist’s of Virginia. These 40,000 kits that were collected amount to around $400,000 worth of materials. As United Methodists we are a mission people who share the good news of Jesus Christ and seek to empower those we are called to serve. By providing these kits we offer the children of Afghanistan a small bag of educational tools to use as they begin the long journey of rebuilding their lives and country. Thank you all for joining in God’s mission!
