Worship Times Our Sunday worship is at 11:00 AM. Sunday School is at 10:00 AM.
There is a Contemporary
Service each Wednesday at 7:00 PM May 2 May 9 May 16 May 23 May 30 You are asked to read and study the text each week in preparation for worship. |
The Household of God: Three Keys to a Healthy Life So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone...in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God. Ephesians 2:19, 22 A father overreacts to his child's crying after a particularly hard day at the office. A teenage daughter screams at her mother, "You never understand me!" when she is asked to clean up her room. A student is disrespectful of a teacher he feels is being particularly unfair. A co-worker offers a suggestion to help improve efficiency and raises the anger of others who feel accused of being inefficient. A member leaves the church and discontinues his contributions because he feels his desires for the program and worship of the church are not being fulfilled. We all are often faced with anxious situations in our lives. Anxiety is a fact of life. Change is difficult. Have you ever wondered how some persons, homes, schools, workplaces, or churches seem to handle anxiety and change so much better than another? Have you ever wondered how you can develop the skills and maturity to better negotiate the inevitable "ups and downs" of life? Have you ever wished for the peace of Christ "which passes all understanding" deep in your own heart? Have you ever wondered what life is really like in the household of God? During the month of May I will preach a series of sermons designed to address these kinds of questions. It is my hope that we will not only identify the symptoms of anxiety in life but also discover the grace that brings healing and health. There is no better time to embrace the power that is ours through the resurrection of Jesus Christ than the season of Easter! We will also welcome the members of our Confirmation Class who enter the full fellowship of the household of God on Pentecost, May 30! In his name, |

Preschool and Mother’s Day Out was very busy preparing for Easter. We
listened to the Easter story during Chapel and then Mrs. Bobbie retold
the story to the Three-year-old and Pre-K classes using Resurrection
Eggs. All the classes had a great time at their Easter Egg Hunts and
parties. Mother’s Day Out celebrated with banana splits and a Easter Tea
Party. The children are anxiously awaiting the “birth” of our
butterflies when we return to school on April 19th. |

New Aldersgate Class Series The Aldersgate Sunday School Class is starting a series of critical studies to examine the significance and strength of our faith in Christ in the context of a modern world full of competing and sometimes conflicting views of spirituality. During the next six months we will be looking at other religions and an atheist’s view of Christianity. First we will start on April 18 with Joel Green’s book Beginning With Jesus: Christ in Scripture, the Church, and Discipleship. Green uses images of journey to look at the historical Jesus, Jesus’ effect on church history and theology, and His means to transform lives through more than knowledge when we live as His disciples. Join us for lively discussion that can lead to a deeper understanding.
